Lisbon Treaty Referendum - 2nd attempt

On October 2, 2009 Ireland is asked the second time to vote for or against the Lisbon Treaty. After last years debacle with dirty campaigns and less background information about the actual sense, Irish citizens voted clearly with "no" as they were simply confused. This years referendum will show if Ireland has learned from last year as such a decision is important for the Irish as part of the EU. We as non-native Irish citizens are not eligible to vote. Am 2. Oktober 2009 muss Irland ein zweites Mal für oder gegen den "Vertrag von Lissabon" wählen. Nach dem Debakel im letzten Jahr mit schmutzigen Kampagnen und sehr wenigen Hintergrundinformationen über den eigentlichen Sinn der Sache hat die irische Bevölkerung mit einem klaren "Nein" abgestimmt. Das Ergebnis resultierte einfach aus Verwirrung. Das diesjährige Referendum wird nun zeigen ob Irland aus den Fehlern des letzten Jahres gelernt hat, da diese Entscheidung sehr wichtig für den Fortbestand der irischen Rolle innerhalb der EU ist.
