We would like to wish all of you a Happy Holiday Season 2014. Up next for us, straight after Christmas, a couple of days on the island of Usedom. Also on the bill are the cities Świnoujście (Swinemünde) and Szczecin (Stettin) in Poland.  Wir wünschen allen ein schönes Weihnachtsfest 2014. Für uns geht es, direkt nach Weihnachten, für ein paar Tage nach Usedom. Auch geplant ist die Städte Świnoujście (Swinemünde) und Szczecin (Stettin) in Polen zu besuchen. 

We'll wrap up the year 2014 with a couple of days away, we'll head off to the island Usedom, located in the Baltic Sea.  Wir beenden das Jahr 2014 mit ein paar Urlaubstagen. Es geht auf die Insel Usedom, direkt in der Ostsee.

Up next, we will head off the Nothern Schleswig-Holstein for a three day vaction from October 15 - October 18, 2014. Destinations are some small villages along the Baltic Sea coastline, Eckernförde and others. Als nächstes geht es in den Norden Schleswig-Holsteins für eine dreitäge Reise vom 15.-18. October 2014. Wir schauen einige Dörfer an der Ostseeküste, Eckernförde und andere an.

We changed our mind and went to Lübeck instead of Flensburg as previously announced. Some pictures from today's trip can be found on Twitter . Also, our trip to Binz later in October will also not happen since we will chose another destination "last minute".  Wir haben unsere Meinung geändert und sind heute nach Lübeck und nicht wie vor ein paar Tagen angekündigt nach Flensburg gefahren. Einige Bilder von heutigen Ausflug gibt's auf Twitter . Auch nach Binz, später im Oktober, wird es nicht gehen da wir auch hier ein anderes Ziel "last minute" aussuchen werden. 

The last time when we went to Flensburg it was raining cats and dogs and we couldn't even take a walk. On Friday, October 3rd, we will risk a second attempt to finally visit the city close to the Danish border.  Das letzte Mal als wir nach Flensburg fuhren, hat es wie aus Eimern geregnet und wir konnten nicht einmal etwas Spazieren gehen. Am Freitag, den 3. Oktober werden wir einen zweiten Versuch unternehmen um uns die Stadt an der dänischen Grenze anzusehen. 

Just a sign of life. Apologies for the long silence but we are simply enjoying the Summer and there is actually nothing to report right now. Nur ein Lebenszeichen. Entschuldigung für die lange Stille, aber wir genießen einfach den Sommer und ist gibt im Moment eigentlich auch Nichts zu berichten.

In October we will head over to the fabulous island of Rügen, located on the Baltic Sea coastline of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.  Im Oktober geht es auf die schöne Ostseeinsel Rügen, direkt an der Küste Mecklenburg-Vorpommerns. 

Caroline will be back to the US this fall. She will be attending a global business meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada for a few days in November. We as a family are meanwhile in the process of planning our return to North America some time in 2015.  Caroline wird diesen Herbst wieder in die USA reisen. Dort nimmt sie in Las Vegas, Nevada, an einer globalen Geschäftskonferenz im November teil. Wir als Familie planen indies unsere Rückkehr nach Nordamerika irgendwann in 2015 vor.  

The warm weather is simply inviting to pack swim clothes, towels, sun cream and off we go...to Scharbeutz tomorrow.  Das warme Wetter lädt einfach dazu ein Badesachen, Handtücher und Sonnencreme einzupacken. Und schon geht's ab...morgen nach Scharbeutz . 

Time is running really fast...Our little one Samuel will turn 2 years of age on this upcoming weekend. It feels like if it was yesterday, when he was born.  Die Zeit rennt nur so...Unser kleiner Samuel wird schon 2 Jahre am Wochenende. Es ist als wäre es erst gestern gewesen, als er geboren wurde.

We'll use the bank holiday on Thursday to travel over to the beautiful hanseatic city of Wismar. Anxious to see what this city holds in stock for us. More to follow on Thursday live on Twitter . Wir werden den Mai-Feiertag nutzen um einmal in die Hansestadt Wismar zu fahren. Schon gespannt, was uns dort erwartet. Weiteres am Donnerstag live auf Twitter .

Next up will be a day trip to German hanseatic city of Wismar on May 1. Als nächstes geht es in die Hansestadt Wismar am 1. Mai.

After one year taking care of Samuel and organizing the relocation from Ireland back to Germany, Sebastian's parental leave ends this Sunday and he will resume work next week. He'll work as a Support Engineer in a privately held IT system house in the nearby village of Kayhude.  Nach einem Jahr Elternzeit und Organisation des Umzuges von Irland nach Deutschland ist es nun Zeit, dass Sebastian wieder in die Berufswelt einsteigt. Er tritt einen Job als Support Engineer in einem mittelständigen IT System Haus im nahegelegenen Ort Kayhude an. 

After so many years in a mild, wet and windy climate we need to get use to a real winter. Last night we recorded a temperature of -14°C.  Nach so vielen Jahren in einem milden, feuchten und windigen Klima müssen wir uns erstmal wieder an einen richtigen Winter gewöhnen. Letzte Nacht fiel die Temperatur auf -14°C.
